This weeks session was all based around learning about figurative drawing and learning about the structure of the human body using a model skeleton.
To begin with i was asked to do a rather odd seeming thing, to place dots down on my page of where the main parts of the skeletons body were, for example his head, hands, elbow etc.
After doing so i began drawing the dots from memory rather than using the skeleton as a guide, and moved onto drawing lines linked together o display these important parts, thus forming the structure of a body.
Once i had a few tries of drawing the structure of a body this way i found it to be a lot easier than trying to draw each part individually and ending up with off centre parts or other problems.
I found that using the dots and lines to create a starting structure for a human body, to be very useful and believe that it could also be useful for drawing the structure of other things like animals for example.

Week Three
In the third week of art after completing the process of setting up my easel properly i was faced with a chair atop a table with a large cloth draped over it.
The purpose behind this weeks session was to be able to depict cloth in both form and light and shadow.
I began right away, drawing the cloth as detailed as possible using the new technique i had learnt from the week before.
After multiple attempts of drawing the cloth i moved onto presenting dark and light areas on the cloth, this also was made a lot easier by using the shading technique i had learnt the week prior.
The main thing i learnt from this weeks session is that when drawing cloth it is very important that you take the time to look how the creases flow and how it falls on the object it is on, if that is the case. This will help a lot in the future when trying to draw clothed characters or various other material objects.

Week Two
In this second week of Art I picked and collected an easel to use as my own, upon doing so I set it up and prepared for the lesson on light and shadow.
After setting up i was introduced to the same objects as last week, and told to draw them in what, at first, seemed to me to be an odd way. I was told to, rather than draw the objects using outlines, put shading down on the page first in the shape of the objects.
Upon shading all of the objects on my page, it was stressed that i should then study the objects to spot which areas are darker or lighter than others and present that on my image by either shading more to present the darker areas or using my eraser to rub away shading for lit areas.
Once I got the hang of it i found this to be a very useful and different process of drawing, mostly for very detailed shading.
The most important thing i learnt in this session is the technique of how to hold my pencil when drawing on an easel, like holding a painting brush, however i also find the shading technique to be really useful aswell.

First week
The first week for art was only a basic introduction to the subject explaining what we will be expected to do and what we will be facing in the near future.
Due to this fact we were only sitting in a small room with little room to move around in, however Jerry asked us to move all seats and tables aside as we were going to do some brief drawing exercises, he proceeded to place a table into the middle of the room and placed various objects on top, "draw these items, however when u draw them, draw only the outline, do not take your pencil off the page and use your opposite hand." The purpose of this exercise was to "wake up the other side of [our] brain", we also did a few other exercises using our 'weaker' hand such as drawing a border around our paper without taking our pencils off the page, a figure of eight and also multiple sketches, in certain ways, of the items in the middle of the room.
As pointed out this was only an introduction lesson and the 'odd' exercises were actually very handy as it slowly became easier to control my left hand, therefore i believe this would be my most important point of this lesson this week, that using my opposite hand can help work my brain allowing me to produce better work in the long run.
